Cookbook on Echo Park Boulevard yesterday. It's a wonderful little shop selling local produce. We bought a Mexican avocado - like a small, purple eggplant. The skin in so thin you can eat it. The skin is much like that of a nectarine - you almost don't notice it. The avocado was green inside, standard buttery fare.
We immediately took the pit and set it to sprout. What a wonderful tree that would be to add to our growing food forest!
